Metycle gathered 26 team members from around the world for a 4-night team retreat in Thailand, spanning Bangkok and Hua Hin, with a clear focus on team bonding, alignment, and sustainability. Designed and managed end to end by Midstay, the retreat went beyond a traditional offsite by combining in-person partner visits, culture workshops, and hands-on team activities. From visiting recycling facilities and collaborating during interactive challenges to celebrating together at gala dinners, the experience helped Metycle’s global team connect more deeply with each other and with the company’s mission.

Metycle is a digital platform working for the international secondary metal trade. It’s a forward-thinking company on a mission to build a greener and more sustainable future by collecting and repurposing materials that would otherwise go to waste. With a global team of professionals, Metycle wanted them to meet in person to visit their partners on-site, align on the company’s vision, and strengthen team bonds.
Why Did Metycle Request a Team Retreat?

Why Bangkok & Hua Hin?
The retreat started in Bangkok and from there, we took the team to visit their partner and then continue to spend the rest of the days in Hua Hin.
Accommodations Tailored to Their Experience
Our hotel partner Mövenpick Hotel Sukhumvit was the chosen venue for the team’s first day in Bangkok. It’s a centrally located 5-star hotel with rooftop bar, pool and on-site restaurants – making it perfect for a retreat experience.
The team stayed at our villa partner Putahracsa in Hua Hin, which is a beautiful seaside venue located just 100m from the beach. It has all you need: pool, restaurants and comfortable living spaces. This private villa experience was ultimate for the team to bond and interact even more.

What Did the Retreat Schedule Look Like?
The itinerary was custom-designed by our experts to achieve Metycles goal of combining productivity, work and team bonding.
Day 1: Arriving In Bangkok, Ice-breaker, Swag and Sunset Dinner
The retreat started with team members from around the world arriving in Bangkok where our team on-site welcomed them and brought them to the hotel. The team got to settle in and relax before they enjoyed a welcome lunch at the hotel’s Lelawadee Restaurant. The afternoon proceeded with a fun ice-breaking session on the hotel’s rooftop, where the team also received their branded swag. The evening rounded up with sunset cocktails and team dinner to celebrate the start of the team retreat.
Day 2: On-site Partner Visit and Travel to Hua Hin
The next morning started with breakfast and a check-out before heading to one of Metycles recycling partners outside of Bangkok. This was an educational and exciting experience since the team members got to see what they work with in-person.
The team then enjoyed a lunch at Oay Restaurant before returning to the partners facility for another visit. In the evening, they continued the travel to Hua Hin, and enjoyed a group dinner on the way, before checking in to the next venue, Putahracsa Hua Hin.
Day 3: Team Activity and Workshops
The third day began with breakfast at the on-site Ob Oon Restaurant followed by an Amazing Race activity, designed to encourage collaboration and problem-solving in teams. After a team lunch back at the hotel and some free time to relax and recharge, the team gathered for an internal work session focused on company values and culture before heading out for a seaside dinner at Supatra by the Sea.
Day 4: Workshops Continue, Team Activity, and Gala Dinner
Day four was focused on continued workshops and breakout sessions before a new team activity in the afternoon. This time, another one of our most requested team building games: the Beach Olympics. This provides physical movement and team collaboration in friendly competition – perfect for team building.
To finish the retreat in the best way, we organized a Gala Dinner at Kampu Restaurant, which is a sophisticated dining venue where the team celebrated their experience and strengthened further bonds in a festive atmosphere.
Day 5: Departure
On the fifth and final day, the group shared another breakfast together before checking out and heading back to Bangkok for their flights home – refreshed, aligned, and motivated.
